CFP Physicians Group has the only certified Type 2 Diabetes Education Program in the Orlando area. This Program is For anyone who has been diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes, Impaired Fasting Glucose or Inpaired Glucose Tolerance, and provides the most up to date guidelines for their control. The Program is great for those recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes or as a “refresher” course for people who have been living with it for some time. Patients with impaired fasting Blood Glucose ir Impaired glucose Tolerance will find the class useful in helping to prevent the onset of Type 2 Diabetes.
The Course teaches the 7 core concepts for the control of diabetes as described by the American Association of Diabetes Educators. They are: Healthy Eating, Physical Activity, Monitoring, Taking Medications, Healthy Coping, Problem Solving and Reducing Risks. By learning and adhering to those 7 core concepts, the person who has Type 2 Diabetes should be able to get the disease under control, keep it in control and thus, reduce complocations.
CFP Physicians Type 2 Diabetes Education program meets every Thursday evening at the CFP office in Casselberry from 5:30PM to 7:30PM for a total of 4 Thursdays. The main instructor, Jackie Hudson ARNP, is a certified Diabetes Educator who includes a dietician and a physicak therapist in the program to ensure a well-rounded approach to controlling the disease. After completion, the attendee is instructed to schedule a one on one session with Jackie to focus on their individual approach.
